John Cow Blog Design - Case Study

JohnCow.com was started as a parody blog of the very popular JohnChow.com, and was almost instantly a success. Virtually every portion of John Chow’s theme was translated over onto John Cow’s theme.

Then something happened, JohnChow.com got a new theme!

John Cow choose Weborithm to design a new custom theme for his blog. We knew we had to give his blog a unique identity, rather than change the theme to reflect that of his peer.

The main points and elements that John Cow wanted for his new theme were -

  • Better monetization options
  • Better readability
  • An element of fun
  • Most of all, a distinct WordPress theme

Having gone through many concepts, Weborithm came up with what you see now live on his blog.

You can read his own comments on the theme development, as well as the comments of his readers on the post titled - Cow 2.0. The unanimous verdict is that the theme is a success.
