Gmail Reply Tip

At times when you are having email conversations with friends, colleagues or clients the conversations can get pretty long. Quite by accident I found that when you select some text from the previous reply (can be as little or as much as you want) and hit the reply button to write back ONLY that text will show up in your reply email.

How cool is that! Go ahead give it a try in your Gmail inbox.

  1. Great tip! Just a quick heads up that it sounds like you are using the “Quote selected text” lab, which is toggled in your Mail settings > Labs. If you disable this lab, or never turned it on in the first place, your replies will quote the entire previous message.

  2. Thanks for the tip!
I’m working on writing how-to guides and getting up a blog for my website Eugene Computer Geek, and want to have tips on my site like yours.

What’s your favorite software for blogging? Do you prefer to have the blog hosted on the same domain/IP as your website, or are their more benefits with SEO to have the blog hosted elsewhere? Thanks.
